War is coming, it’s time to stockpile – 7 important things you didn’t read yesterday (but should have)

1. Edwin Clark’s herculean request.

How do you ask ‘aggrieved’ persons to support you? You don’t, rather you make them feel un-aggrieved and by default, you get their support.

South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has sought the near-impossible, by appealing to the disgruntled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants in Akwa Ibom State to put aside their grievances and support President Goodluck Jonathan in his re-election bid.

2. It’s time to stockpile, war is coming.

Nigeria’s general elections is imminent, but to many, it is not that different from war time… we should be worried.

The Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria have called on Nigerians in volatile places to stockpile foods and other essential commodities “in case violence breaks out and shops are not opened for some days.”

3. PDP politicians drag Fayose to court.

Yet again, the animated and controversial governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose finds himself in court… this time for imposition.

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State have sued the party, accusing the governor of imposing Chief Thadeus Aina on them as the House of Representatives candidate of the PDP for Ekiti North Federal Constituency.

4. Bauchi wants Okada, bans multiple passengers.

Bauchi state has banned the transportation of more than one passenger on private or commercial motorcycles, which Nigerians like to call Okada.

“The state government has observed with dismay the practice of some operators of commercial and private motorcycles carrying two or more passengers.”

5. Refugees don’t want anything to do with GEJ.

For the first time in history of mankind, refugees have rejected relief materials… we never expected it.

The BBC Hausa Service radio reports that relief materials were rejected by Nigerian refugees, for being branded with President Goodluck Jonathan’s photographs.

“Who is going to collect these items? Who, Goodluck? If we knew Jonathan’s pictures were on the item, we wouldn’t have come here. We don’t want them.”

6. Fashola not done with Agbaje on ‘Land Use Charge’.

Fashola is very very determined (In Kanu Nwankwo’s voice)

Babatunde Fashola is not convinced, and has therefore requested that Jimi Agbaje present the receipt of payment of his Land Use Charge.

The Governor Lagos State has challenged the People’s Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, to publish receipts showing that he had paid N1.6 million land use charge debt.

7. Finally, there’s a real challenger for Sepp Blatter.

After what seems like an eternity at the helm of FIFA, Sepp Blatter may have a real challenger… hopefully.

Former Portugal international Luis Figo, says he has obtained the backing letters of six national football associations, to challenge Sepp Blatter for the FIFA presidency.

“I am happy to confirm that my six backing letters have been sent to FIFA this week ahead of the deadline.”
