We can’t neglect this land
We can’t give in yet
Though the imprisoned seeks no liberation
We can’t just turn our backs to see her waste
For the love of Nigeria
1.For the citizens of this country
Who had a selfless leader
That laboured for truth
That bled for change
But for their scaled eyes
Failed to see the sacrifices
We won’t let you go
We will fight for you
2. How can one save a clan?
That doesn’t want salvation
How can one teach a people how to fish?
When they prefer to keep begging for fishes
How I wish these eyes of clay
Can gain sight again
But then we won’t let you go
We will fight for you
3. We can’t neglect this land
We can’t give in yet
Though the imprisoned seeks no liberation
We can’t just turn our backs to see her waste
For the love of Nigeria
We have to keep fighting for her fettered soul
Nigeria, know that we won’t let you go
We will fight for you
4. For the eyes
Scaled by hunger
For the brains
Whose functions have been taken over
By mouths that simply wants to munch
Stomachs that simply wants to get filled
We won’t let you go
We will fight for you
5. For the little foetus
A product of rape
For the sales girl
That has never known joy
For that vulcanizer
Who has been loosing weight from malnutrition as he makes tyres fat
We won’t let you go
We will fight for you
6.For the conductor
Whose only craving is beer
For the trader selling roasted corn
Whose only challenge is the next meal
For the little boy
Whose school uniform is tattered
We won’t let you go
We will fight for you
7. For the teacher
Whose salary carries no weight
The university student
Who has no hope of paying his fees
For the cobbler
Whose life is meaningless
We won’t let you go
We will fight for you
8. For the farmer
Whose daughter is dying in the hospital
The policeman
Who can hardly buy pampers
For the soldier
Who gets to face death daily without adequate protection
We won’t let you go
We will fight for you
9. For the eyes that can no longer see
The schizophrenic souls on our streets
Families that really don’t care again
About what this beautiful land will become
Sad we have become a flaccid lot
Everyone almost giving up on Nigeria
Please never you forget that we won’t let you go
We will fight for you
10. For the ones we’ve lost
To the menace of bombs
The leaders that struggle to enthrone the truth
But get repressed by hade’s host
For hundreds of our daughters taken away from us
And several families now drowning in their tears
We won’t let you go
We will fight for you
